With the commencement of operations on January 24th, 1997, we transitioned from a government department to an independent entity, providing postal services on a strictly commercial basis. Guided by policies set by our esteemed board, the Corporation aimed to meet all reasonable demands for postal services throughout Grenada, establishing itself as a key player in the realm of commercial postal services.

Our story begins in the eighteenth century when the Postal Service first arrived in Grenada during the era of British colonization. For many years, the Post office operated as a department within the Ministry of Communications and Works. However, a transformative moment arrived on January 24th, 1997, with the establishment of the Grenada Postal Corporation.
The Grenada Postal Corporation was established by Act 21 of 1996 which commenced on January 24th, 1997 to provide postal services on a strictly commercial basis.
The Corporation shall, in accordance with the policies determined by the board, provide postal services throughout Grenada so as to satisfy all reasonable demands or anticipated demands for such services on a strictly commercial basis.
